What are the challenges you face in stroke rehabilitation today?

From rehab in the acute unit to the transfer and continuation of care in the community, this event is your opportunity to share best practice in providing high, improving, and sustainable standards of rehab care.

  • Expansion: moving from 5 to 7 day working in rehab
  • Innovative approaches: how to take-up and implement new ideas
  • Patient experiences: developing your services with special attention to patient opinions and needs
  • Workforce challenges: optimising your staff in the provision of a specialist stroke care

"Successful Stroke Rehabilitation" is your chance to hear how services across the country have worked to address and overcome the difficulties involved in developing and improving their stroke rehab services. Providing you with insight and knowledge to improve your services, key focus will be placed on:

  • Moving to a 7 day service:
    • how to successfully implement 7 day working
    • how to overcome the problems and barriers involved in moving from 5 to 7 day working
  • Patient focused stroke rehab:
    • making sure patients’ needs and views are kept at the forefront to enhance effective patient care and rehab
    • how to ensure patients are kept informed throughout the rehab process
  • Optimising your workforce:
    • how to best utilise and develop the resources available to you so that staff can meet patients’ needs
    • a look at the role of specialist care in accelerating recovery
  • Patient transition in action:
    • insight into the successful transition from acute to community rehab care
    • how to make sure your patients are receiving the right care at the right time

You will see how other services have developed to meet patient needs within their means and how you can do the same. By addressing the common problems faced by services today, this event will enable you to build your service provision by incorporating other services’ innovative and useful ideas.
